Nice weather to take a walk at the Eastern Market on a Sunday morning! Many interest little stores selling all kinds of stuff! There are also many food stores both outdoor and indoor. Reasonably priced tasty food to savour! There is a metro station that...More

We have been to the indoor Eastern Market during the week several times before. It is fine, but not a lot for you if you are visiting and not seriously cooking. There is a LOT of meat, fish, and produce indoors throughout the week. However,...More

Eastern Market is a beautifully-restored 19th century farmers market on Capitol Hill. During the week, it offers (mainly inside the building) limited choices of upscale meats, poultry, fish, cheeses, pastries, and fruit and vegetables, along with a restaurant offering breakfast and lunch. The Eastern Market consists of an indoor as well as an outdoor section. The indoor is mostly meats and cheeses. The outdoor is fresh fruits and vegetables. It all looked good, but is not cheap. Several Mennonite sellers. Easy access to the Eastern Market Metro...More

We read a lot about this place and were a little disappointed there wasn't a lot going on during our weekday visit. Big selection of meats, deli items and pastries. Would visit again, though on the weekend.

Went on a Sunday late morning. Convenient and very short walk from the Metro Station. Moderate variety of vendors and food options. Neighborhood eateries in gentrified D.C.

Interesting mixture of crafts, fresh fruits and vegetables in an open market setting. Nice weekend activity.

There's not much point going on a weekday. There was nothing much open unless you want groceries on weekdays. On a Saturday, though, the place was rockin! So many great booths set up outside. Cool spot.

I last went to Eastern Market a couple of years back and there were lots of vendors with a variety of different items. It has definitely changed quite a bit. It's now on the street which doesn't accommodate as many vendors as before. I wasn't...More

I'm not sure. You may want to contact them directly via e-mail prior to your visit just to make sure. Things change faster than we can keep up with these days.
