Great place to start. Looking for some interesting side bargains or maybe just people watching, then this is for you. Everything from bird houses, fresh produce, local artists and the vibe is relaxing even if it is DC.

Decent. Diversified with plenty of everything. Be sure to check out the large indoor food market. Good restaurants too.

Eastern Market is a must-do if you're in the Capitol Hill area. It's like a small-town farmers market, multiplied, but still with the local, friendly vibe. You can find probably any fresh veggie, fruit, plant, spice or meat that you can think of. And very...More

Very nice ambience. Lovely streets and small market shops. Easily accessible from the metro stop, just across the street. Would go here again.

We came to try this place out on a Saturday, which was apparently a good move because we overheard our favorite vendor saying he doesn't come on Sundays. He was selling pickles, and the spicy pickles were amazing... we will likely make the hike back...More

We visited on a Tuesday so not the lively market atmosphere I had hoped for but wished we would have not eaten just before going here as all the food looked really great and all we had room for was some dessert. Prices were very...More

The size of the market and the range of produce and goods was much smaller than we had expected. I can imagine that if we were locals, it would be a good place to go on the weekend for fresh produce and specialty deli and...More

Locales like to keep this place to ourselves, but if you are in DC on a Saturday or Sunday, Eastern Market is a lovely way to experience another side of the city. Have brunch near the market or a few blocks away on Barracks Row...More
