The U Street Corridor is home to some of DC's iconic foods. Ben's Chili Bowl, home of the half-smoke, is there plus an area referred to by some as "Little Ethiopia" due to the large number of Ethiopian restaurants.

This isn't the best area of town. We found it to be quite dirty and sorta unsafe. We only came here to go to Ben's Chili Bowl.

It took a little over 40 years after the riots which ensued when Martin Luther King was assassinated, but the ruined stretches of U St. and environs have come back with a vengeance: numerous upscale restaurants, shops and things to do. It's a happening place that would have been a little sweeter if so many of the original al population... More

There are so many bars, restaurants, shops and neighborhood residential side streets in this area that you be able to find whatever you're looking for. There's lot of police presence, so I assume that it's safe to walk at night. Car & foot traffic is congested on the weekends.

During a visit to DC, my friend and I enjoyed a visit to Ben's Chili Bowl. Waiting in line took about 45 minutes to get in, but it was worth it. The chili fries were delicious! Other aspects of the visit were noticing the changes that seemed to be taking place as we walked toward Adams-Morgan; hints of gentrification. I... More

There are a few restaurants like Ben's and some ethnic ones to choose from. Parking is tight much of the time. Not too expensive an area for eats and drinks. The Howard and Lincoln Theaters are nearby plus a few other clubs.

A lot of the cooler restaurants and bars are in the area. We had dinner at Jack Roses in the area. It's packed at night so reservations for dinner or wait with everyone else. Plenty of options in the area.

I had seen this place on the travel channel and thought we would give it a try. The food was okay but for me it was the experience of nostalgia that made it worth a visit. There was a lot of energy from the staff that carried over to the customers which only enhanced the experience. Staff was very friendly.... More

There didn't seem to be too much to see when we visited. We originally came with the intention of eating in one of the restaurants. Unfortunately our first choice was full, and the staff in the 2nd choice were pretty rude, so we decided to find somewhere else. Wasn't really that impressed with the area - certainly there are better... More

This area has evolved over the years from being rough and decrepit to now being where the action is! In the past, Ben's Chili Bowl was about the only reason to visit this area. Now, there are numerous top notch restaurants, shops, theater, and more. At 14th and V you have Bus Boys and Poets and Eatonville. Further down by... More

Very good! No frills, just really good food. It was busy so you may have to wait to get a seat, but it is well worth it.
