On a sunny afternoon, we drove on this highway and reached the summit after two hours from the East gate of Yellowstone National Park. The scenery was wonderful and beyond comparison. If you are visiting Yellowstone, don't miss this One....!

We went up and over this pass just because it is so high in elevation. Indeed it is high, over 10,000 feet, and the road is narrow in places and winding, but the views are simply spectacular. I'd strongly encourage travelers to take the time...More

3.5 hours is too short. Allow 1 full day, and pack a sandwich , this is very photogenic place, and you will make stops every 10 minutes.

I won't say you can't do it, but some of the switchback turns would be very difficult with a load that long.
