I am a fan of highways that course through beautiful places--the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive through the Appalachians, the Pacific Coast Highway, any of a number of high-altitude roadways in Colorado. The Beartooth Highway is one of the best if you enjoy mountain...More

We drove this from Cooke City Montana, going up a mountain and down to the bottom of the same mountain. It is one of the most beautiful drives that I can ever remember in my life! Vista after vista after vista! We lost track of...More

Well, right off you have to know that no review--indeed, no verbal description and no photo--can give you an accurate notion of what you'll experience when you drive the Beartooth All-American Road. As the highway traverses the largest high elevation plateau in the United States,...More

Been over this mountain many times and never is the trip the same. If you have a fear of heights, this scenic drive can be daunting. The views are amazing. Usually can catch the mountain goats near the ski slope The temperature and climate can...More

We went up and over this pass just because it is so high in elevation. Indeed it is high, over 10,000 feet, and the road is narrow in places and winding, but the views are simply spectacular. I'd strongly encourage travelers to take the time...More

It was fantastic, among others for the huge packs of snow. We did expect more of it though. Great road

If you are travelling to or from Yellowstone and Billings as a destination then this route is a must. We were travelling up from Cody to Billings and somebody suggested we take the route via the Chief Joseph Highway which then connects with the Beartooth...More

This is one of the most breathtaking Highway to drive, so beautiful, even in middle September when it can already be cold, windy and stormy with little bit of snow. Can not imagine how it must even look during summer time. It was so worth...More

3.5 hours is too short. Allow 1 full day, and pack a sandwich , this is very photogenic place, and you will make stops every 10 minutes.
