My wife and I happened to find a brochure for Silly Mountain at the Apache Junction Library. We are in our 60s and have no mountain climbing experience, but decided to give it a try. Armed with our map and bottles of water we set...More

This is a very well done “park”. Very close to town, right on hey 60. A very easy trail with plant identifications, 5 or more we’ll marked hiking trails., not too much elevation. A nice place to take visitors.

It’s fun, it’s relative easy, even for people who are not in top shape. Very nice panorama once you get to the top. But even along the way, lively desert scenery.

Hike Silly Mountain whenever I need a quick hike. Easy parking, several trails of varying ability levels. Not like the Superstitions but at least you can see them from here.

My family often hikes Silly mountain well we are visiting our parents. It’s a nice 2 hour hike that we often do in the mornings to get some quick exercise. Trails are fairly easy to do with no aggressive rocks to climb.

Very convenient to Gold Canyon , Mesa, AJ. Very nice on the backside where the road noise from Highway 60 is behind the mountain and you have beautiful views of the Superstition Mountains. Easy access from Highway 60.

Beautiful, Rustic. Great hiking. Gateway to the old Indian Massacre Grounds. Fabulous scenery. Waterfalls in Winter and Spring. Explore abandoned mines!

It has been a month or so since I've been there but I would say yes, I usually did the harder part of the hike first (not really that bad, but it is the steepest), and then once you go up over the top you will go to the... More
