My wife and I are able bodied seniors and wanted to see what was silly about Silly Mountain. We enjoyed the short easy flat walk along botanical trail. The trail had identification markers near various native plants. We noticed as we walked higher, the trail...More

Several trails, a couple more vertical than the others. No gear required - other than water, a hat and good shoes. Do NOT try this in the summer or heat of the day! It's easy going, but in the intense heat and sunshine, you could...More

I hiked with a group of friends who were at various skill levels. This hike provided a mix of easy, moderate and challenging trail, some of it quite rocky. We hiked early in the day, took things slow, and stopped often. It wasn't too warm,...More

Love Silly mountain. A very nice place to visit. I loved the botanical type walk around the base of the mountain. Place cards stationary to let you know what type of vegetation, trees, cactus, etc.., there are in the Sonoran desert. Perfect for everyone of...More

We loved this trail! Gets your heart rate up hiking the steep parts, offers amazing views of the Superstitions, and benches tucked in just the right places to rest and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Several short hikes ranging from level botanical interpretive stroll, to steep scrambles up several peaks. Wear decent boots. Sneakers aren't suitable for the sharp rocks and break-down.

The hike is 2.4 miles and is moderate, on the trail you can see very nice wild flowers and great views of Gold Canyon and Superstition Mountains.

Hard to compare with Superstition Mountain, which lies just off the N.E. horizon, but a nice, scenic hike for those looking for something close by. Several trails, from easy to moderately challenging, take you up to the top of Silly Mountain. Don't let her name...More
