There are better redwood stands in the state. However, this is near town and has some good hikes for those so inclined.

We went exploring along the coast for the Old Grove Redwoods, we were not disappointed. This park has alot of hiking and bicycling trails with varying levels of difficulty. There are 2 pit toilets, one at the entrance and one about 3 miles in at...More

I have lived in Aptos since 1980 and this week I went walking here with my husband for only the 4th time ever! It is so serene and beautiful! Hard for us to walk at a brisk pace because we stopped to admire the flowers,...More

Even on weekends, you can find quiet hikes and plenty of fresh air in this parks. Fun to look for banana slugs and the old car in "Marcel's forest".

Great State Park with beautiful hiking trails at any time of the year. The restroom inside the park is an outhouse and the state park needs more money for maintenance so be prepared for that. A beautiful gem with redwood trees and mountain biking trails.

Lots of great trails to hike. There were folks biking too. Hike to the epicenter of 1989 earthquake. Look for banana slugs while you hike. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the beauty of the redwoods!

Pretty place to walk. Vault toilets are nasty. Didn't see any other facilities or water fountains. Just a basic park for walking.

Right by highway 1 but within a short distance you could be in the middle of nowhere. Nice and cool under the trees. You can do a 2 mile stroll or a 10 mile hike.

If you are into Redwood trees, this place is for you. The state park charges $8.00 for parking. I did not have exact change so I handed over a $20.00 bill. The attendant did not like that so he went into slow motion. He took...More

You can drive through many parts of Nisene Marks State Park, though the bigger redwoods are in Big Basin. There is a loop path next to the Big Basin Ranger Station that is set up for level walking and is ok for wheelchairs... More
