- Nathan SLos Angeles, California4 contributionsGood times! Could have been better...I've been coming since I was a kid and I love santa anita race track. I went memorial day 5/29/23. We were really enjoying ourselves at the promotional carnival this year with the family. I hope they continue this! Unfortunately most of the exhibits starting closing at 6-6:30pm.. We all expected 7: 30 since it was advertised on the event information. My kids wanted a face painting and by 6:30pm however, they were cleaned up and leaving, stating they were closed. It seems everyone here wants to leave as soon as possible.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 May 2023

The Race Track has one of the best backdrops in the United States..... The San Gabriel Mountains. Everyone working at this track was very friendly & helpful, especially the tellers at the betting windows. This track is also very well maintained, and the food/drink options were very good. Along with great weather it made for a very enjoyable race weekend. Overall Rating ~ Very GoodVisited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 November 2023
- S WLos Angeles, California8 contributionsBig Coupe !!!"I went to Santa Anita Park with my family on February 17th to watch a horse race. The park was as beautiful as ever, and there was also a Chinese New Year celebration on that day. The staff at the park were very friendly, which made the experience even better. The most wonderful thing was that the horse we were rooting for, BIG COUPE, won the race, and as a result, we were invited to the winner's circle. It was a dream-like moment for us, and we are grateful to the horse owner for the invitation. Santa Anita Park always provides an amazing experience, and I recommend everyone to visit."Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 February 2024

An amazing race track, and this from a person who knows (as a Brit used to Ascot!). The members of staff are delightful, attentive and kind.
The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the price of the drinks is just too high. A pint of beer comes in at $14, and it’s just a basic beer. The venue is amazing though, very easy to get into and absolutely huge. I had a great time and it really is worth a visit if in the area.

This review is for the Chinese New Year event/racing day 01/22/23:
They sold tickets for $25 each for the following items: Dances and showcase of the culture ( everyone has access, there are no special areas or shows, anyone who is there for the races can see the same shows) $10 to use towards purchases of food (3 dim sum pieces for 7$ plus tax: the taco stand and the usual food at the track was a better deal); a chance for money tree envelope (you can get a FREE one just by signing up for some spam/advertisement); includes parking (parking at Santa Anita track is already FREE); a racing program (already FREE); special/general seating (it is not a special section with a better view, it is where anyone can sit not sectioned off, no special views- sit or stand anywhere for FREE)

Paid $225 for an opening day trackside loge box for my family. Was really looking forward to opening day at the track. Instead all I got was a view of a metal pole. Seats were not sold as “restricted views” from the box office, they were “premium” seats. Really disappointing!

First time since covid that we have visited Santa Anita. Prior, we were yearly or twice yearly visitors.
This is a very nice older track, well maintained with great seating for beautiful views of the San Gabriel mountain range. We had wonderful weather and great seats and enjoyed the races.
Some of the employees did not seem to have any idea when we asked questions about ticket sales for the next day, etc. But all in all, a good time.

Come here annually and love it every time. My kids love to see the horses and the tours they give. I love the center of the track where there is more fun for the family.

Santa Anita Park recently remolded its reserve seating, which is where the nicer concessions are located. However, I like General Admission to get close to the thoroughbreds thundering down the stretch.
The views of the park, with the San Gabriel Mtns in the distance, are breathtaking.

We came on Saturday for the Memorial Day weekend. I hadn't been here in years and the last time was for our company Xmas party at night when the horse racing park was closed. We had box seats and our Wager Ambassador Talia showed us the tricks in betting, horse rules, stable area, and selfies at the winner's circle. We had a fun time and I actually won on a small bet with a Trifecta. The only drawback are the super expensive beer prices.

Are the box seats in the shade...... my husband can’t be out in the direct sun for extended periods of time.
Hi, Andreina. What would you like to know about this attraction?

Hi Andreina Santa Anita is a lot of fun to go to when the weather is nice. If you want to have lunch there I would recommend the Turf Club. Not a fancy dress code and you can watch the races while having lunch. Have fun and good luck.

I have no idea what that question means. What area of a race track would NOT be appropriate for two adults?
How much is general admission?

Sorry to be so late answering this question. As I recall, it was abundant and free.

My favorite place is in the box seats near the finish line. But like everyone else has stated, it depends on your goal. I love the TVs in the box seats so you can watch the race on the parts of the track you can't see as well. The boxes are also very close to the restrooms and food/drink venues. They are typically shaded so not very hot there like it can get trackside. The nicest thing about the box seats is that you can also move about to the other areas freely during the day so you can experience whatever you are looking for.
