Walk across the bridge!

Lunch at Taco Tree, a walk across the tallest bridge in California and then ice cream at Fosters Freeze. The bridge is amazing and the views are spectacular. What a great day!

Just visiting the Forest Hill area. A very scenic view from the Foresthill Bridge of the American River at the proposed site of the never built Auburn Dam. You can visit by car or bike. The 3rd highest bridge in the country at ~730 ft above the river. You have a view of the confluence of the North and Middle... More

I enjoyed visiting Forest Hill. Small town feel. They have a great funky gift shop with a super friendly owner. I had lunch at the little cafe that was good.

Miner's Camp is a worthwhile and unique place to stay in Forest Hill. The cute cabins are all named after local mines and have objects inside to resemble a miner's camp. For instance, instead of curtains, burlap sacks cover the windows. The sitting room table was an upside down sled. The kitchen is modern but with a rake to hold... More

This is the highest bridge in California and also a place where several movies were shot. You can see both ways over the Canyon and for miles. There is a small place to park so you can walk out over the bridge and take photos.

A friend and I volunteered at the Tevis Cup and drove up here (about 19 miles) from Auburn. It's a very small town with friendly people and good service. There's a beautiful bridge to drive or walk over (I believe it is the highest bridge in California, over 720 feet). Very extreme fire danger, and it was excessively hot. But... More

Had the opportunity to explore Auburn and the Forest Hill Bridge...awesome! Did a little hiking on some great, well-marked trails and even though I didn't have time to traverse the bridge I was able to get some great pictures from dizzying heights in numerous areas. Hard to believe all this beauty and serenity lies within just a few hundred feet... More

This is an old mining town and you will feel like you stepped back in time. If you want a test of the wild west, this will give you a run for your dough.

While traveling elsewhere I was told about this bridge for the hiking trails. I'm in construction so getting to see the tallest bridge in Ca, at 730' high) was interesting to me anyway. The drive here from Folsom was short and pretty. There are multiple access points for the trails which made for a great day. You can park at... More
