Skiing Ajax for the past decade. Great access with the gondola right in town, easy walk with minimal wait lines. Relaxing trip up to the top to catch a breath when running a straight top to bottom run. Plenty of very challenging runs, and that is just the Blues (not a single green). Sun deck at the top is a... My friends and I can't ski and can't afford to learn skiing as well as to rent out the equipment but most of us have never seen the snow so we were quite curious. We came right when the skiing season just ended so it wasn't too crowded. You can take the gondola (return trip) for 26 dollars, and you... More

The locals will try and scare less confident skiers away, and there are no beginner trails on the mountain. But there are plenty of blue groomers so if you are comfortable skiing blues then Ajax is very doable. I will say, however, that I was once there during a storm and it was very intimidating so I suggest the less... More

My husband went skiing while my 2yr old and I rode up in the gondola to the top. Beautiful view and great pics. My husband enjoyed the skiing.

Aspen is one of those musts for Colorado skiing. It's top notch in terms of amenities but the skiing is great as well.

Great outdoor area to have a drink located at the base of the gondola on Aspen Mountain. Can't beat the views!

This may be a bit above my skiing level but I made it! We went for a long hike at the top, probably a couple miles. You should definately do it. I've only skied a handful of times (Floridian) but wow this was great! Even tried the moguls!!

The ride on the gondola, which begins right in town near many hotels , sets the stage for a great day of skiing. There are many blue runs on the top half of the mountain for the intermediate "blue" skier. The views are spectacular. The food in the lodge is excellent. Ruthie's , a blue run, can be difficult in... More

We were out late March after a week of warm weather. Turns out the conditions are still amazing! Sunshine all day and lots of snow even off the main runs! Great mountain with something for everyone!!

There are world class ski mountains that start right in a world-class town. Aspen Mt. is the only one that I am aware of. The skiing is great for intermediate to expert skiers. There are excellent restaurants at the top of the mountain as well as at the base.
