Tucked behind the athletic fields and next to the river, lies a little bit of heaven on earth. A small path leads from the main walkway to the Song Garden. A ring of boulders surrounding a blue spruce with lyrics to some of John's most...More

Selected poetry and the lyrics to the best of John Denver's songs are etched in large boulders and you stroll near them in this botanical garden -- gorgeous and worth the visit.

It's quite a wonderful park. Plenty of flowers, nice lay out, some cool art and worth a visit when parking your car at Rio Grande Parking.

We loved this sanctuary. It was peaceful and a wonderful place to reflect on life. The quotations on the rocks were really interesting and the selection of flowers, grasses and water were beautiful. Please visit it if you are in Aspen.

The flowers were amazing. The water features were soothing to the soul. All the lyrics carved into the rocks brought back memories.

We almost did not visit this little gem. What we read about it did not do it justice. It is part of or adjacent to a small park within Aspen and a little hard to find, but absolutely worth a visit.

A must visit when you come to Aspen. A tranquil and moving monument to a talented individual. Beautifully created on the bubbling waters of the river, this is a wonderful place to spend some quiet contemplative time.

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
