Not scary at all

Took the gondola up and sat for a spell in the lodge. Very nice and the views in the dining area are spectacular.

We reached at 3.55pm. 5minutes before they were closing the gondola rides. The staff waited for us to rush and get tickets so that we can make it up on the last gondola trip for the summer season. Really appreciate the staff accomodating us. The ride was great , we could see the fall colours and they views were great.

Well worth the cost to take a gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain. The views in both directions are spectacular - especially in the summer. Hint: Buy the pass that allows unlimited use for the gondola rides and the bus to Maroon Bells.

We loved the gondola ride to Aspen mountain. The ride up and down was amazing it was about a 20 minute ride each way, you can see over the mountains surrounding Aspen. There is a nice little cafe up there called the Sundeck where we had a glass of wine. It felt so peaceful. The view was simple spectacular. The... More

This is a must do for anyone visiting Aspen Colorado. The Gondola ride up to 11,212 feet is spectacular. At the top the Sundeck offers great food, coffee and of course, mountain views.

Well with the price to see Aspen both up the mountain and down the mountain. Once at the top a nice drink at the Sundeck is a must!

On a brilliant blue sky day in Aspen, we went up to the top of Ajax for lunch at the Sun Deck. We played bocce, corn hole and strolled around the top paths looking at Majestic views. Someone was making beautiful music on a giant xylophone. Mainly just to take in the vistas of Highlands bowl and Aspen and Independence... More

Friday afternoon. At $20 each, it's worth the trip. If you're afraid of heights, you may want to avoid this as there is a lot of air between your gondola and the ground. Once at the top, there's not much there. The nature trail is really nothing. There are some children's games, like large chess pieces and chimes. For me,... More

For $22 round-trip it was quite pricey, but we wanted to go to Sundeck for lunch, so we did it anyways. In fact, we got the "Perfect Summer package", which was $32 with $10 credit to Sundeck... and with that we were able to do unlimited trips on the Gondola for 3 (consecutive or non-consecutive days).

We rode up in the summer to hear a free bluegrass concert. Wow, what a day! The views are spectacular and the band - The Railsplitters - was excellent. We spent the whole day, having lunch in the Sundeck lodge. Surprisingly, the food in the Sundeck was excellent! You can sit outdoors on the deck, or indoors looking at the... More
