Christmas perfect because of Buttermilk and adjoining Tiehack Mountain(so named because they harvested rail ties)

So many variable to amuse even our extreme-skier son, and capped off by best wokfest@ top of mountain CliffHouse with possibly best vista of Maroon Bells and beyond, even scope to The Highlands ski area, the whole area's highest peak at 12K +...wow, what a way to cap a morning

I enjoy skiing Buttermilk. It is a beautiful setting and on days where you don't want to push yourself too much, there is a really wide variety of green and blue terrain. It's a good confidence-building mountain. :)

I've been skiing for almost 40 years, but I'd never skied Aspen. Perhaps the intimidating Aspen and Aspen Highlands areas. But we were staying in nearby Glenwood Springs, and while its local Sunlight Resort is great, we were ready for a change of pace. And Aspen, an hour away, was surprisingly less expensive than the equidistant Beaver Creek. Sold. Buttermilk... More

This mountain was a great way to start skiing on the west coast. So much easier to do on real snow rather than ice. We had a first time skier with us so these hills were just right for them and still enough challenges for us who have skied before. Great views from mountain tops. Fun day! Friendly staff!

We skied /snow boarded the day after a big snow fall on a sunny clear day. We were visiting Aspen snow mass for the week. I wasn't sure it would be worth going to because it is smaller than the other 3 and we re intermediate and advanced. I was surprised and delighted! Skied all over and enjoyed the rollers... More

It is smaller but has the X-Game parks. So you can be less aggressive or flat out x-treme. No waits to talk about on any lifts.

The best tracks for beginners, its very wide, so its easy to practice. Not very crowded and if take your time the slope can give you half hour of track, its for fun not super fast and dangerous like Ajax is.

If you are a beginner or want to warm up on the first day of skiing I can't recommend Buttermilk enough. Full of greens and easy blues. The ski school for kids is AMAZING! Don't miss lunch at the top of Summit at the Cliffside. Great food - and not at all the typical ski resort food. If you have... More

This mountain is absolutely incredible with the most comprehensive views of all the others. We are definitely coming back for more ski trips.

Great runs for beginners or those not experienced in powder. Lots of blue and green runs and tiehack is great for black longer runs . Beautiful views and easy to get to on the free bus. Food good but not fantastic.
