Fantastic Beauty

Fantastic Beauty but rocky trail. If you go to the West Maroon Summit from Maroon Lake, it is 13 mi. and 3,000 ft. elevation gain. I loved it.

Cam back from another beautiful trip to Aspen. This is a great hike for starting the trip or wrapping up the trip...depending on which end of the trail you start with. This trall (#1975) can be started at the trail head off Divide drive approaching Snowmass....it is an easy beautiful trail you can take while getting acclimated...we took it to... More

Because it's positively one of the THE most beautiful trails I've ever been to in Aspen. And I've seen a bunch. The trail is located off the same road as the restaurant Krabloonik, and you stay to the left as the road splits. You don't NEED a 4-wheel drive to get to the trailheads, but hey, it makes the ride... More

I hiked in before sunrise in June, many years ago. A near freezing early morning hike that was ski jacket in and a big enough pack to stash it on the way out. The place is beautiful. Make sure you have plenty of camera memory and battery. Worth schlepping a tripod! If you can make it for the sunrise color... More

we were on Gov't trail - i think this is the one this title refers too. not a beginner trail. challanging for intermediates, a blast for advanced. travel Snowmass to Aspen. more down than up. Rocks, roots, drops, climbs, streams, steep in places, beautiful meadows (elk) did i mention limited oxygen? 95% single track.

great grooming and you have a choice wide runs and trees groomers and not groomed trails the only thing that disturbed me was the fact that for two day I Did NOT seen a single ski patrol on the mountain and were there from 9.15 am to 4.30 pm and that is iffy from the safety aspect point of view

Wow, was I ever surprised to see the enormous mountain ranges surrounding me...beauty right before my eyes like nothing I've ever seen before. All sorts of mountain ranges and none looked the same...hiking trails are all free and there are numerous ones all over the place with striking beauty everywhere you look. I loved the trails...one this particular day we... More
