The lake is very close to the parking lot and there is no elevation gain. The lake is gorgeous and the back drop are the Maroon Bells. This is a must see. If you go before 8 you can drive to the trailhead. Otherwise you...More

Took the shuttle which I'm not a fan of because I love to stop at the turnoffs and enjoy the scenery. The Bells were gorgeous as we had a light dusting on snow which resulted in the skiffs of snow across the Bells. Awesome.

When in Aspen, visit the Bells. It is a beautiful place with ever-changing views. Hike along trails, babbling brooks, take snacks, a picnic, and take amazing photos! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

Get away from the crowded area nearest the parking lot and get a different perspective of the beautiful bells. A little hike goes a long ways in making your experience.

Yes, the Disabled placard is one of the exceptions for users who can drive into the Maroon Bells area. There is a $10 recreation use fee. See stayaspensnowmass for more details

I dont know about the parking but i can tell you about the trail. It is narrow at some points (need to move in a single file, one after another) and wider at other points. It is definitely rocky but not very steep. I mean... More
