Looking for some cliff jumping during the Colorado summer? This is a perfect spot. It's a bit of a drive from Denver, but well worth it if you're already heading to Aspen to see the Maroon Bells. I recommend doing this during July/August. The water...More

We were on our way to Leadville via Independence Pass so we decided to stop on our way. I recommend going earlier in the day before afternoon storms. We stopped in around 3 pm and it was raining. There were a bunch of teens jumping...More

Easy to find on the Aspen side of Independence Pass. Was cold when we got there around 10am. Unfortunately no locals or others who had jumped before, so didn't chance a jump. Very pretty setting, wish we could have experienced the thrill. Maybe next time.

This is an interesting little spot along Hwy 82 not far from Aspen. There is no sign indicating where it is. You'll see an unsigned pull-out between The Grottos & Weller Lake Trailhead. The falls area is pretty interesting the way the water cut it...More

On Monday August 22, 4 men and 2 Jeeps went from Gunnison, Colorado through Crested Butte, past Paradise Divide, and down the Devil’s Punchbowl across to Crystal. Then we circled through Lead King Basin to Marble. The ride through the Punchbowl is dangerous but beautiful...More

If you like crystal clear cold water, this is the spot. We rolled in to the small, dirt, left hand pull off. We'd just passed the grotto day use area heading east over independence pass, hoping for a place to hang by a creek. This...More

Last year on the way to Independence Pass from Aspen we passed several trailheads and camping areas along the road. All of them looked like they would be fun to explore. It took a while to plan ahead for these this year because we couldn’t...More
