I love Cherry Creek State Park. I live nearby so visit several times a week. I look for wildlife and birds as I am a photographer. I have enjoyed photographing many birds including eagles, owls, woodpeckers, red-winged blackbirds, ducks, geese, pelicans, kestrels, and many others....More

Big open spaces for whatever you want to do. Not a lot of natural splendor, but it's nice. Park is geared towards picnics and fishing more than pure nature, but you might see pelicans, prairie dogs, and the usual birds and fowl. The 30+ mile...More

It is pretty busy on holidays though overall I love this lake. Hopefully people will take better care of the water at the swim beach. Love everyone who works there.

So much to choose from to do here! Hiking, biking, dog park, horseback riding, fishing, boating, animal watching (birds, deer, coyotes, hawks, golden and bald eagles, homo-sapiens, too!) Plenty of spots to stop in quiet and just exist. I love this park for all the...More

Good place many places to fish from. Speed boats and jet skis dominate the water though. But fishing was still good

We try to camp here several times per year and have never been disappointed. The staff is terrific. The sites closer to Parker Road are noisier than the ones closer to the lake. They book up fast, so book as early as you can.

Cherry Creek State Park is such a wonderful place. Someplace right in the middle of the city where you can go and see all sorts of wildlife and something different almost every time I go there.

It was a very nice park with many things to do like, starting from walking to shooting range, Drown Fly zone, bird watching, and many water sports etc. Its a park for every one.

As said in the previous answer, no direct views of the lake from the RV sites. The lake is within walking distance and the park itself has many other amenities.
