Windy, choppy water, and beware of the tide! This beach is great because it's less busy than most beaches in the area. Even on a Sunday it was easy to find a spot with enough space around us. Make sure you are aware of the...More

Bean Point is a gorgeous, serene beach. It is at the north end of the island and has several entry points. We walked through a nicely maintained pathway to this pristine beach. Clean, white sand with beautiful turquoise water....not overly crowded. We only stayed there...More

I sought this beach out after reading about it on trip advisor. It's a beautiful expanse of white sand with few people. I watched the sunset one day. Another, I took a friend who had never been to Florida - satisfying to share. If you're...More

Our third time in AMI and finally decided to see what everyone's talking about! Since it was not a very busy time on the island, parking was super easy to find directly across from one of the many beach access points. Somewhat of a trek...More

The dunes have grown over the last 6 years, which provide a backdrop to the beach at this end of AMI. Great place to see manatees and dolphins on an early morning walk. Choice of 2 beaches, gulf or bay at the quiet end of...More

Beautiful beach area. Parking was a little annoying but definitely worth it. Had a great time. A lot of ripple waves. I would recommend a tube or straw floaters for the water. We had a great time weather was great and super clean. Sand was...More

This is your spot! Bean Point early in the morning.
We come to AMI every summer, but have always stayed in the Holmes Beach area. This year we are staying in Anna Maria and will be using the Newton Lane beach access. We have no experience with the beaches this far North. How close are we to Bean Point? Is it a walkable distance with a 5 and 8 year old? Also, is our direct beach are safe to swim or will our waters also be prone to the rip tides? I will take any other advice for the area, too! Thank you!!!

Gil summed it up and of course the weather is a factor (wind, tides etc..) so you can have rough waters or complete flat shiny sea!! For eating, the Waterfront is my favorite and the best on the island, also Sandbar for... More

There are other beaches that would probably be a better choice for grilling. Bean Point gives a feeling of being 'untouched' and is more quiet and serene than other beaches.
