The 40 foot Sirena Azul(Blue Mermaid) is made out of hardwoods found in Belize, including Santa Maria, Bullet and Mahogany. The owners of Blue Tang Inn wanted a traditional sailboat that modeled the typical fishing boats in Belize. They hired local boat builders in a small Belize village to build this elegant yet traditional sailboat. Hop aboard for a fun filled day snorkeling the barrier reef and enjoying breathtaking sunsets in the tropics.

In hindsight, this should have been obvious: the Sirena Azul is a sailboat so it takes a long time to get out to Hol Chan, even with the motor on. We left at 8:45am and spent 75 minutes sailing out to Shark Ray Alley, then...More

The sailboat ride was phenomenal! It allowed us to lay out & sun while on our way to shark alley & Hol Chan. The guides were great, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They helped make the most of our time & experience out in the water.

We were fortunate to book this sailboat for a sunset sail. As it turned out, there were only two of us on the ship. But the crew made a wonderful adventure. With little wind, the crew was sill able to set sail and went to...More

We experienced good pre-trip communication, although we initiated most of it. We had booked the trip via Viatar six weeks in advance and had an email exchange to confirm the booking was good. As we left for Belize, I checked in with Germain to see...More
