A nice way to kill a bit of time. This activity is really cheap. I think it was $4BZD per person. The area is very clean and easy to access. It closes at 4PM, but you don't need a whole lot of time here. You can swim in the Blue Hole, the water is not cold. There are some stairs, so anyone with mobility issues may have a bit of trouble.

We stopped off while driving the butterfly road. There's a park employee there collecting a small fee to visit and there's a gate to close the parking lot after hours. There's changing rooms and restrooms there.
The pool area is small and they've built a cement entry and viewing area. There's really not much there, but it's a great spot to stop off and take a quick swim to cool down.

Nice, cool rfershing spot to stay a couple of hours. There's a cool trail to hike on to. There were too many mosquitoes for my daughter so we only went about 1/4 through LOL...we LOVED the swim though.

Great quick stop after cave tubing. We pretty much had it to ourselves, which was nice. Bring your snorkel mask! You can use it to peer into the water to see the underground cave entrance (blue area).

Visited the Blue Hole National Park on 6-21-2022. The actual swim pool was very nice. The crime ring that broke into my rental and stole my wallet and cash, not so much. I believe workout proof the attendant was involved.I filed a police report, and they miraculously found my wallet the next day on the highway, no cash of course. Also I had all of my credit cards returned with the exception of my company card. Different name on the card, it must have gotten mixed in with the other stolen wallets/purses and in the confusion of not having my actual name on it, I did not get it back. I recommend if you visit, to take all valuables with you. It's a short hike, and not worth the chance.

We stopped at the Blue Hole as part of our tour to Xuanantunich. We were the only ones there. It was kind of neat with the jungle all around it. There were small fish swimming in it and they didn't seem to be bothered by humans. The water felt a bit cool so we got in for a few minutes, basically to say that we did it. There are bathrooms (not very nice) and changing rooms (better than bathrooms). I wouldn't make a special trip to go there but it was on our way.

On February 2, 2022 I went to the in-land Bluehole National Park from Bellmorpan. It is easy to do by yourself by taking a bus to Dangriga or Punta Gorda or drive. When you see the park sign, ask the driver to let you off. The jungle hike was easy and tranquil with lots of birds. Unexpectedly there was an outfitter for cave tubing at the entrance. It is called Upside Down. For $50US they will provide the tube, life jacket and a headlamp. The guide will lead you for a short hike to the cave. Then, pull you upstream for about 30 minutes. On the way they explained the formation of the cave, animals who live inside and point out the tiny bats that hang on the roof. They will let you turn off the lamp to experience the total darkness and quietness. Finally, we flowed down stream back to the cave entrance. They are knowledgeable and very friendly. They are a local small outfitter who live in the village nearby. No reservation is needed and no limit on 2 minimum. I went by myself and they still happily did it. Afterwards, they even invited me to ride with them to a restaurant near where they live. I felt that they are professional and kind. There were lots of Rough-winged Swallow at the entrance. I was told there were lots of White-Collared Manakins also but I did not have time to look for it.
Highly recommended.

My husband and I did the self-guided tour of St. Herman's Cave. For a minimal fee, you gain entrance to the cave as well as the Blue Hole cenote a mile down the road. There is a hiking trail which connects the two, but we opted to drive given the heat. The parking lot and ticket booth are right off the highway. If you've already got a ticket from the cave, just show it to the attendant. The cenote is down a short path and several steps. Blue Hole is small, but lovely. It's quite refreshing to take a dip in the cold water. Make sure to wear bug repellent on your face because the mosquitos are brutal. There is a concrete ledge at the bottom of the steps where you can drop your towel & stuff. We were there in the middle of the week and there were only 2 other people.

Is there somewhere I can leave my bag whilst visiting the National Park? It's a airline hand luggage size back pack? I dont mind paying a reasonable fee. Thanks

Hi there are no lockers avail buy if nothing valuable in bag maybe arrange to leave with the park keepers or the person that you will pay the entrance fee to.How are you planning to get there? If by bus then that would be your choice but if in a vehicle then in it.

If you are wolling to tour the Blue Hole and the Cavevnearby on your own that is not a problem. We did it on our own because he did take some flashlights and headlights with us so we managed on out own. Not very complicated tour on your own. But guides provides headlights if you wish to do so but only for the cave

I would like to stop here while traveling from Belize City to San Ignacio. I will have my backpack luggage with me, are there any safe storage areas? Lockers? Thank you :)

The Bluehole National Park is about 13 miles from Belmopan, But its on the Hummingbird HWY, you will either need to catch a bus to drop you off there, or hire a taxi or tour operator to carry you there or rent your own car. There are no lockers there to put your things, but perhaps you could leave them with the park rangers. To get to the blue Hole you have to go down some 100 steps, from where you pay. to get to the near by cave you have a 10 minute walk from the park rangers building.

Look to be at site by mid morning . . . the ride out is the kicker. Parks personnel are on site no later than 8 and BH diving shut down happens when Park people pack it in at 4ish . . . the dive is worth it in spite of "rights of passage" coments or the OK visibility . . . it's the entire day out there that is the dive experience and it does not disappoint . . . ensure your charter has the permits in advance then you just boat directly to site . . . enjoy . . .

So I have looked around briefly and did not see a way to ride an inner tube into the cave. Am I miss reading your review?

You would need to walk into the St. Herman's Cave with your tube and walk up further into the cave to then float back down. This cave is different to other well know caves which have a specific entrance and different exit. This cave you have one specific entrance where you would first venture to then float back to the same location you went into the cave.
