Absolutely loved driving around this lake. Beautiful scenery, extremely picturesque. You can easily spend a whole day here if not longer. So plan accordingly. Avoid some of the more tourist towns and try and head to the quieter smaller places.

Get on a boat out at Lake Atitlán. Wear your swimsuit. Go cliff jumping because it's there and when will you get another chance? Or not. You'll still have a great time. Swim in the beautiful, blue lake. Relax on the rocks. Explore the villages...More

Lago Atitlan is beautiful with plenty to see and do. We timed our visit for Friday markets and the one in Solola was the best. I wish we had more time so we could trek at least one volcano. Staying in Panajachel was OK, bit...More

Five days on the lake is a good amount of time. Panajachel is easily the biggest town. It has the most restaurants and shopping, but I enjoy staying in one of the smaller towns. The boats to and from the villages are very... More
