I have been coming to this place for the past 5 years and have always loved the experience of flying through the trees! This is good for adults and children with the youngest being 6 years old. Great experience!

The butterfly reserve was really beautiful. People have commented that it's good for kids, but it's also good for the elderly. It's peaceful and relaxing and you can just sit and watch. They also have an educational part at the end where they show you the larvae and cocoons. The Nature Reserve is right next to Hotel Atitlan, so we... More

I love the hanging bridges, the tall waterfall, the shade coffee, the history of the place, the beautiful butterflies, and the area of kids to play. The trails are not very long, but they lead you through exquisite places. Overall it's a lovely place to get away from the hustle-bustle and relax with a good hike. Best to eat before... More

This is a great place to bring children to see all the stages of a butterfly's life, from caterpillar to butterfly. They raise about 5 different kinds of butterflies, so there's not a lot of variety. 70Q to enter. We rode a tuk tuk because it's too far and dangerous to walk on the highway to get there. We went... The butterfly sanctuary is a part of the larger Atlitlan Nature Reserve and was a very fun experience for my daughters who were 3 and 4 at the time we visited. The reserve overall is a lot of fun and very educations as well.

This was very nice and an added bonus to the Atitlan Nature reserve. It was well groomed, but no many varieties of butterfly’s there on the day we visited, but still nice.

June seems a good time to visit this exhibit....lots of butterflies! Not worth a separate trip, but if you're doing the zip line, take the time to walk through it.

It's worth a visit if you are in the area, but no different than other butterfly sanctuaries. A wide variety of butterfly's and you can get up close and personal with them. The price of admissions is include in the zip line admissions.

When we booked to stay at Hotel Atitlan, we didn't know the nature preserve was near by. We just happened to have some free time in our schedule so we walked over to check it out. After walking around for a bit, we got to the Butterfly Sanctuary. What a great experience that was.
