Nice hike in the city

My tour guide decided not to take the road while going up. I was a little annoyed at first, it was me and another person going up this thing. So rather than hike up...we climbed up. We used branches and a more natural trail to go up. I'm 5'10 and relatively fit, but I was out of breath like 30... More

This is an interesting site to visit if you like to take long walks. You need transportation to get to the top or you can walk to the top too. At the top, there are paths to enjoy a walk or a run through nature. Great views of the city. The park needs some maintance, but is a great activity... More

Its worth the time to hike up to Cerro El Baul and take in the beautiful view of the city. If you have time, meander over to the park and grab a cardboard or plastic sheet and slide down the concrete slides! This is a wonderful weekend activity!

Nice little hike in the city. If you have an afternoon to spend it´s worth it. We went on top but then there was some rain, so the view was clouded and the park empty. Still, the walk up was worth it and not too hard. I enjoyed myself and so did my boyfriend.

This is a lovely activity, you can walk from Xela, there is a good easy path, on the top you can have a picnic, see the view and there are also some pretty fun slides.

This is a great little hike that you can walk to from Parque Central in Xela. Everyone recommends (all the locals and otherwise) that you go in the morning and not solo, and to not take valuables because of robberies - I always followed the advice and felt very comfortable, lots of families and people walking their dogs. its is... This relative short hike from Parque Central gives you a bit of exercise, a great view of Xela, and a thrill on the concrete slipper slides. (You need to sit on card board and not have your knuckles rub the concrete on the way down.) I went flying over the bumps and made several trips.

Pretty little hike through nature up to Baul. The view is definitely worth it. You can see the entire valley of Xela. Nice park to hang out in up top as well. Be careful that you only visit during busier times as there have been instances of theft.

It was a nice walk, but form the central square area you will have to walk down calle 3 & 5 through some areas where it does not feel comfortable. In a month here in Xela I've seen men relieving themselves in the street 3 times and all were on this walk. Once you get to the top it's a... More

This is a short enough walk or drive. It gives decent views of Xela. If you have a few hours spare it's worth doing but don't do this instead of 1 of the bigger volcanoes.
