If you climb to the top of this temple you'll get great views of the park and the surrounding temples. Definitely worth doing.

If you climb up those stairs, you will have a great view of the plaza and the temple 1. You can also see the top of the other temples rising over the canopy. Sit on the benches and enjoy the view.

We where there in the morning around 7am for the sunrise (with a bus leaving at 3 from Flores). This place is gorgeous, mythic and surprising. With the raise of the sun all the parrots are roaming around, the monkeys howl a bit less, and all the power of the pyramid stand tall over the bottom portion. Great experience !

We hiked up this temple while visiting with a group. They have put a stairway to get up which makes it safer and allows most everyone to see the nice views over the Grand Plaza. The stairway, fencing and scaffolding take away some of the ruggedness of the views, but I'm sure they are all necessary.

There are just 2 temples you can still climb at Tikal, both with stunning views. My friends and I spent almost half an hour on Temple II taking it all in.

One of the many temples within the Tikal park, all of which are worth seeing. Easy on foot to get around with or without a guide.

Another large pyramid, opposite Temple I on the great plaza. At the back of the temple there are stairs to the top, which gives you great views of great plaza and Temple I.

Temple II faces the Great Plaza and Temple I. On its left, is the North Acropolis and its many layers and rooms. Unlike Temple I, you may climb this pyramid via wooden platforms and stairs at its rear (it is lower than Temple IV and easier to climb). Beautiful photo ops, especially at sunset when Temple I is bathe in... More
