My wife and I did a tour of Tikal Mayan Ruins and really enjoyed the massive complex. The ruins are in good condition and you can get the feel for how large the city was in its prime. We had a Guatemalan guide who really...More

We really enjoyed visiting the museums this trip to Tikal - plenty to see and to learn if you take the time to look at the photos and read the captions.

This place is magical. You will be amazed by what the Mayan did at a time Europeans were barely starting to develop... I loved the visit. We did it at sunset, but I would advise to do it on sunrise, I think it might be...More

After seeing the temples and buildings in the park which were amazing we decided to see the museum as well. They are separated into two different buildings. The first had an excellent display of ceramics in cabinets which I felt could have been changed out...More

Both museums at Tikal National Park are small but interesting. This one show the history of the park and the other displays some of the artifacts that have been excavated. The museums are helpful in gaining an understanding of the park as a whole.

The Maya were amazing people. The sophistication of their cities compared to Europe at the time is a shocker

After visitng the museum at Santa Domingo, and the Archealogical Museum in Mexico this place is a huge disappointment. There should be more money going in to preserve and dispaly Tikal as the amazing place it is, unfortunately the powers that be have not done...More

Tikal was a beautiful, incredible place with plenty to see and do. We paid for a private day tour which was 3 hours in total which was enough time to enjoy and look around. Don't miss it
