Ok, so I have never even touched a horse before - the nearest I have come to such an animal was being headbutted by one donkey and bit by his mate - so despite being VERY keen to ride a horse I was also a 100% newbie. It was quite clear from the outset that I was not going to... More

Agree with some reviews on the highway portion of the ride. I was nervous at first, and am an experienced rider. However, once I realized the horses were used to riding on the road I relaxed a little. The amazing beach ride made it worth it.

Our family of five enjoyed this as a cruise ship excursion. Our kids are now in their twenties and all of us are comfortable with riding. Ride began on the road, through parts of town, down towards the beach and some time in the ocean. We were a bit leery riding in another country; but I must say that these... More

We did the horseback riding tour right away in the morning, after we got off the ship. The 'ranch' isn't fancy and the horses do appear to be very thin. However, the horses were very docile the entire time. Sharky was friendly and was talking to us the whole time. Kayla didn't say much, but you can't really expect her... More

We booked the "sunset ride" which turned out to be "the highway to hell" ride. We started out crossing a busy highway- motorcycles, tour buses, horns honking, dogs barking... we continued on the highway for what seemed like forever. We are all somewhat experienced and were really uncomfortable. Nowhere to get off the highway. It was wet, horses slipping, buses... More

My kids (ages 6-8) aren't very experienced riders but the guides were very nice and accommodating, and the horses were gentle. We rode down the side of the main street, thru a local area and down the beach -- which was gorgeous. It was very fun for all of us and we'd do it again.

We had 6 adults and 1 child horseback riding. I was very nervous and they were very accommodating. The horses were gentle and listened. I would come back again.

We went out with Sharkey and Kayla which were both real nice. Rode down the side of the main street, through the local area to the beach. We went thru shallow water and back to the stables. It was a long ride of 2 hours which is plenty if you are not an regular horse rider. The cost was fair... More

I went for a solo ride with Shirkie, who was funny and entertaining. He knew a lot about the area, having lived their for most of his life, and was able to provide commentary for the whole ride. I rode El Presidente (no joke) who was a real cutie and very easy. I have been riding since I was 12... More

After reading several reviews of the tour guide being intoxicated during the tour, I was very nervous for this excursion. The pickup was very difficult to find as our driver was sitting on the side of the road with the Dixon Tours sign behind another sign. I was a bit nervous about getting in his car, as it was an...
