The church has an amazing look and there you have also views of the city. I guess the best way to go is in a car. Parts of the places you shouldn't miss in the city.

If you like historical place, get a local to take you to visit this place. Has even older historical church right next door. In small neighborhood.

You can feel the years of history as you walk inside. The statues all date back to colonial times and are lovingly cared for and dressed by volunteers, to keep them breathtakingly beautiful.

Representative of Spanish colonial architecture. Great to spend some time (day only) wandering inside of the church, but don't go walking in the area.

This area was renovated recently. The inside of the church is absolutely gorgeous, worth the visit just to see the inside woodwork of the altar. It´s also safe to visit now after the renovation.

Easily accesible. Nicely decorated, especially during Christmas time when they place color lights on its front view. Appropriate place to attend a weekday service. Parking accesible on its side.

Yeah! La Merced is next to congress in downtown! The pictures for the basilica were confusing! I'm sorry I tapped the not useful and can't change it back.
