Good place to take small children. Very basic animals, deer, turkeys, owls, alligators, snakes, Eagles, etc. Paved paths for you to follow. Fairly easy walk for older people. Set in a canopy of trees.

Even though there are not a lot of animals like a big zoo like Zoo Atlanta. However this is a place where a family can go to have fun and learn about different animals and their habitat.

This little zoo is a nice little hour long diversion while you are visiting Athens. It is tucked away in a park not far from UGA campus. Check it out if you have a little extra time!

I love the fact that Athens has a zoo that is free. Love to check out the bear and the birds. Great programs for kids. A true asset to the community!

I've never seen anything for sale at the zoo, but it is just a couple of blocks away from all sorts of stores and restaurants. There is a public pool next door that may sell drinks. We bring water in with us.
can you touch can you pet any of the animals
