Really fantastic. The day we were here, the weather was exceptionally wonderful. I would imagine that this wouldn't be quite as welcoming in the extreme heat of the summer. Although we were here for half of a day, I felt that we only saw a small portion of the grounds. EVERYTHING that we saw was wonderful! Every aspect of this... More

I have been here before many years ago. The weather this visit was cold and raining so we could not enjoy the leisurely stroll that I wad hoping for. I did feel my self relax and breathe deeply. The garden was a little between seasons but worth the visit. The staff/volunteers were extremely pleasant.

The garden is a great place to hike, relax by the conservatory, or explore the formal plantings. I go often and it is the place I take my nature loving visitors! There is a cute and good gift shop and the special programs they hold are always enjoyable and creative. Having Dondero's Kitchen there for snacks and light meals is... More

I enjoy walking along the numerous trails especially the Orange Trail which takes you along the Oconee River. The Bot Garden hosts lots of activities such... More

This is a great place to enjoy a beautiful garden, have a picnic, or go for a hike. It's always nice but there's certainly more to see in spring/summer. They have a quaint little cafe that serves light lunch/sandwiches and coffee. Just check the hours before going as they're not open as long as the grounds are. The hiking trails... More

I have lived in this area for over a decade, and the Botanical Gardens is by far my favorite place to go for a hike in town. It offers lovely short family hikes that I can do with my young 2 children, or longer more strenuous hikes I can do when I can finally score a babysitter. The gardens themselves... More

I commonly referred to "The Botan" as a place to get outside and enjoy the silence! I would visit here regularly and walk whatever trail and find one of their benches and just let the time go by. I would often bring a book or homework as well when I had the time! Located just past the softball/soccer facility off... More

My wife and I were in Athens for the day, but had a couple hours free to do something on our own! Our time was well spent at the botanical gardens. The floral examples were so beautiful there and the property was remarkably landscaped. We are making this a definite place to return to.
