This was a good Visitor Center and fairly typical of what you find at an attraction such as this. The staff were interested in the place and I noticed one spending time answering questions and explaining about specific features of the place.

Friendly and informative staff. They give you great ideas to start your visit. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop for some unique souvenir of your trip. The prints of the volcano are spectacular.

Fantastic introduction to the park. Lots of displays and information about the area & all the volcanic activity. Be sure to stop in the theater to see the video's about the volcano, some very impressive stuff

Kilauea Volcano Visitor Center has very good displays. Good views of the crater with steam. Restrooms are available and there is ample parking. Be sure to visit Kilauea iki Crater. It is possible to walk part of the rim or go down into the crater.

The visitor center at any national park is a must see stop before heading deep into the park. The information is good although some of the interpretive materials need to be updated or repaired. There is a 20 minute video that's worth watching but is dated quite a bit. There is also a small Hawaii Pacific park store housed here... More

Very informative, center tells you everything you need to know and in my case why I was not able to get closer to the crater.... I mean they have such a nice road leading right up to the crater but we cant use it. Due to the gases they keep you a safe distance away which is just far enough... More

You need to stop here to find out where you can and won't be able to get to. This volcano is alive and kicking. What's open today may be closed tonight.

Very informative place to start your exploration of the park. The Volcano Art Center Gallery is just next door and the Volcano House (Restaurant/Bar/Gift Shop, etc.) is out the parking lot to the left. The Volcano House has a nice, warm fireplace that ALWAYS has a fire lit and a wonderful view of the crater on the opposite side of... More

Go after sundown and you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view of the glowing caldera. They also have rangers that give presentations that are quite informative. There are also a lot of informational displays inside. It gets busy at sun down so if you prefer less people come later. The park is open 24 hours a day. This is a... More
