Amazing place

This is one of the best places to visit since so much candy and chocolate I'd produced here. This place is a staple to Hawaii

Ok this place is a tourist trap but we come here all the time anyway. It's in the heart of Hilo and is an easy one stop place to buy presents for family, friends, and colleagues back on the mainland. This is a stop for large tour groups so try coming before noon unless you enjoy elbow jostling with shopping... More

Big Island candies is always a favorite stop when in town. I love the free samples, great coffee and there is always a "have to get" snack to take home.

What would you call a business that not only greets you at the door but presents you with cookie and candy samples and then directs you to a free small coffee? BIG ISLAND CANDIES! As we walked the display area, there are more samples to try. Also a viewing area to watch the cookies being dipped in chocolate and candies... More

Big Island Candies are best known for their "diagonally" dipped shortbread cookies in milk or white chocolate. Oh so lovely and tasty. Premium ingredients seem to be the norm here - e.g. the shortbreads taste like real butter (the ONLY way) is used. And premium chocolate. Although the chocolate dipped shortbread cookies are their signature, there are many other items... More

If there's one thing I've learned in all my years being a pastry and cookie fan, it's that the best cookies seem to be the ones that come individually wrapped within a larger container. Now I know why. These are some of the freshest and most delicious cookies I've ever had. Best cookies I've ever tasted in Hawaii. There aren't... More

This was our second visit and it is so worth it! The shortbread cookies are amazing. The choclate is awesome. When we left there yesterday, I said to my husband.."Now that is a place that has not changed their quality at all"! We always send a package home for my Mom and of course a bag for us as well.... These are the greatest gifts to take back to the mainland, other islands of other countries as they are tasty and the variety of great. Our grandchildren like watching the staff making the candies through the large windows. Not to mention the free samples and coffee available. We buy many boxes as gifts and head to the post office to... More
