We knew we were in for an interesting day when the big sign in the pro shop said "No Wind Checks". Russell was the cart guy and starter and he was very helpful. The tradewinds were forecast to hit the Big Island at 10 AM and they were going to have wind gusts of 40 to 50 MPH. They appeared... More

The course is in great shape greens are rolling fast and play was pretty fast.. what surprises me the most is the lack luster service, inside staff was great but the golf attendant was sub standard compared to the other resort course.. the golf boards were great and easy to use if you can move your body a little. The... More

During a recent visit to Hawaii I was fortunate to be able to play 4 rounds at this golf course. The golf is challenging but fun and the view is to die for. Hard to focus on golf with so many spectacular views of the ocean. Nice variety of holes and fun to play. Staff was very friendly and helpful.... More

We played Hapuna twice while in the area. The first time we played, we didn't see another group until we were on the 12th hole. We had an 8AM tee time and were able to tee off immediately and move along apace. The course can be played in about four hours; carts are required, as there is a lot of... More

The course has matured and is in excellent condition. I played here in June 2000 for the first time. I played it again as part of the Golf Card 'bundling' - I played Mauna Kea twice and the Hapuna course once. I had forgotten how much fun this course can be. There is quite a bit of elevation change and... More

I love this golf course. Can be very challenging when a wind is blowing. The shop staff are friendly and the range and practise area are superb. They also have these funky scooters if you want to go solo. The greens are very slick, so be careful with putt uno

We had a great time on this challenging but not too challenging course with beautiful views of the NW coast of the Island. Because it's on the dry end of the Island we were never rained on during our round and the temperature was balmy and pleasant. The golf course staff were some of the most gracious people we encountered... More

we visit the big island several times a year and play multiple rounds at hapuna. they did have some problems with the greens a few months ago but they're ok now. don't expect fast greens but most big island courses are not noted for fast greens. probably running about a 9.5. the course in general is in great shape and... This course often gets overshadowed by the other nearby courses at the Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea resorts. But, dollar for dollar this course is well worth a visit. The staff is excellent. They are always welcoming and friendly. They do strive to make your visit and experience very enjoyable. As far as the course, it's difficulty will vary with... More
