We rented a condo (in the Mauna Lani Golf Villas section) that was only a few minute walk to the Mauna Lani Historic Park trail. We used the trail everyday to walk or jog to the Mauna Lani Beach. A few informative signs about the area can be found along the trail, which discuss the history of the area with... More

This walk is on a mostly paved pathway in the Mauna Lani resort area. It's wonderful in the morning when it is not too hot. It goes over lava fields and contains the remnants of an ancient lava tube home. There are historic fish ponds and then the ocean. Overall a lovely and unique walk.

This was on our way to look at the turtle pond at the Mauna Lani and we all left happy that we came. As the kids had recently watched Moana, they got a kick out of all the lava and the walk through it. It's very easy with the paved walkways.

We parked at the park to walk over to Mauna Lani to go snorkeling. This is the place they tell you to park at and do the walk over. The only interesting thing about the park is the big cave/lava tube that they say was inhabited by ancient Hawaiians. So Ancient Hawaiians lived like Cavemen? We went to nearly all... More

We inadvertently went here while trying to get to the beach @ Mauna Lani. There is public parking and it leads you right into the park, which has petroglyphs and fish ponds, caves, etc. It is all paved, and very nice. There are washrooms here too. At the front there are beaches and in the middle area there is great... More

The trail starts from the Fairmont Orchid car park at Mauna lana.It takes approx 1.0 hour to complete [ there and back] and the petroglyphs are very interesting. If you have seen these elsewhere then maybe not worth the effort . We had the trail to ourselves noting the shrubs are thorny .Also there are numerous birds on the trail which... More

This trail goes to some interesting lava tubes and then along the Mauna Lani fish ponds. It is well maintained and very pleasant. Start the hike near the entrance to the Mauna Lani Hotel spa and fitness center.

We walked the history tour which is very informative. But the gem of this is the fish ponds and beach! There is a brackish water pool with photo friendly eels! Lots of paths to explore, glad we found this place!
