We've visited Kauai many times and always make it a point to spend at least one day at Lydgate Beach Park! The beach has a cordoned off area with a break water for snorkeling and is great for kids and older folks alike. We had...More

This spot is great for families or couples who just want to relax and have a pool-like ocean experience. It's so calm, and there's lots of space either in the grass or farther down the beach. I can imagine brining little kids and having them...More

We stayed near Poipu Beach, but we enjoyed Lydgate more. Mainly because of the sandy bottom instead of rocks. We only swam outside of the protected area, but never felt unsafe. We did get tossed around pretty good & I'm still getting sand out of...More

This is a beautiful park to watch the sunrise! Close to Lihue and has a sand wash off station. Nice spot.

We purchased snorkeling gears at Costco at $50 and headed to Lydgate beach. There is a small reserved area perfect for snorkeling. It is a size of football field. I and my 2 kids literally spent 3 hours just snorkeling. it is right off the...More

Lydgate is very sheltered I went there to do some snorkelling, but it gets very busy and the fish get scared off by all the people unfortunately. I saw a few though so it was worth it, plus it's a sheltered cove so a nice...More
