Prepare for a lot of fellow hikers on this trek - parking your car can be a bit tricky. First half mile incline rewards you with a tremendous view of the coast. Then continue on for up to 4 more miles - turn around when you'd like. We went about 2 miles and then decided to turn around and return.... More

We (my wife, 14 year old daughter,12 year old son & myself) began our day in Poipu at 5:45am. We drove to Hanalei Bay and the morning "rush hour" and single lane highway slowed us down through all the little towns along the way. We finally arrived at Ke'e Beach just before 8:00am missing out on the very last parking... More

The trail is about two miles from Ke'e Beach to Hanakapi'ai Beach (four miles round trip), all of it along the Na Pali Coast. There are some challenging sections and the trail can be slippery and muddy in spots, but we noticed plenty of children doing the hike just fine. Along the way there are multiple lookouts that offer views... More

We'd love to go back & hike the full 11 miles & camp - but we only did the first mile or so. Lots of uphill to kick things off - but great views not too far into the hike. Muddy & rocky. Parking was a little tough - and we couldn't swim at the beach there or snorkel in... More

My husband and I hiked the first part of this trail , which is to the hanakapai beach and 2 miles one way. As it was the beginning of the rainy season, the trail was muddy, slippery all along the way. We had our hiking poles with us, and that helped a great deal although it increased our hike time... We started on this trail & met several people coming back down without getting to the falls due to mud & steep drops. We did this with our 10 & 12 year old daughters. While I'm a fairly accomplished hiker, my wife and kids did this with no previous hiking experience. We went on a dry & sunny day. There... More

Absolutely amazing! Worth every step...You will not be disappointed with this hike. Did the first 2 miles with ease...rocks are slippery when wet, but overall a great trail.

This trail is tough as it had slippery sections, narrow sections, steep sections and rocky sections. Not something I would want to hike after rains. We had a beautiful hot sunny day and as it had rained small amount the night before and there are some small streams, there were sections that were very slippery. I would recommend hiking boots... The short and sweet: The trail is challenging, but doable Bring a hydration pack. I used 1.25 of my 2 liters within the first 2 miles. Also bring, snacks and fueling foods. Hiking sandals work great for the first stretch to Hanakapi’ai Beach The river crossing is pretty tough so proceed with caution Wear sunblock and mosquito repellant and bring... More

This place has got to be one of the most fantastic scenes in the world...and I am well traveled and seen my fare share of gorgeous spots. I was very surprised to find this trail much more difficult than I'd anticipated for a two mile, very popular trail. It had rained all week and when I went today, it was... More
