Family friendly beach out of the Way of the main tourist destinations. Nice sandy beach suitable children. Some rip tide, so watch small children when they are in the water.

Love this beach so much. Quiet and out-of-the-way. It helped that I was with my grandson and daughter.

What else could you want in a beach. Clear water, lots of shade, a calm river for the kids to play (can be murky after rain), rocks to climb on and great ocean views it has it all. This beach is very worthy of a beach day.

By the mainland standards this is a great beach, but here it is average in my view. You can pull off the road to park under trees, close to the beach with little carrying needed. Relatively quiet when we were there. A river drains into the bay at the west end, near the portable johns, and thus the near shore... More

This one is up on my list. The view is nice, it typically isn't overcrowded, and it's good for all sorts of things. I also like to paddle board up the river, the views are great. My friend in Kilauea always wants to go here, so I've been here quite a bit. Definitely a good one to check out.

This is a great beach! If you have young children they have the calm lake waters to swim in and if you have teens looking to boogie board it's great as well. Waves can be a bit rough but they are manageable if you're a decent swimmer. Also it has lots of shade and it's not crowded so lots of... More

So what can you say about one of the best beaches on the island? I will try though I know I will leave out something (so bear w/ me). Located on the way out to the north shore. Clear water - excellent swimming in this bay, lots of parking (you park off the road under trees), lots of spots w/... More

After 4 visits to Kauai, this beach remains a favorite. Gorgeous ridges on either side, and lots of shade trees you can drive your car right under. In summer it's a great place for the kids to boogie-board. There is a river and lava rocks on the west side that the kids will also enjoy exploring. In winter it is... More

A wonderful beach, in a cove, open to the ocean and surf. A river empties into the ocean on the left end of the beach, and has created a sandbar along the beach and a calm shallow pool of fresh/salty water behind it. This makes a great spot for kids, away from the surf. It's also a great spot for... More
