ok, first, not for surfing.... But excellent for everything else! Large beach park, calm water as a result of the sand bar, excellent for snorkeling and child safety (still the ocean but..). This is as close to a caribbean sea type calmness of a beach that I have seen in Kauai. Best when not raining.

Whether you want to swim, snorkel, or just stay on the beach, Anini is lovely and secluded. There are two areas; the one closest to the entrance has no facilities and is quiet. The other end, where the beach park is, has restrooms, picnic tables, a boat ramp, and usually food trucks. This area is more crowded, but nothing like... More

Finally visited this beach and glad we did. It wasn't a large one by any means. There is ample parking along the main road it stretches on. Definitely a must-see!

We were lucky to be told by a local of this beautiful beach. The water is clear and calm which is great for a swim and snorkeling. Surprisingly not very crowded which is good because it's not one of the biggest beaches on the north shore.

I loved Anini Beach. I visited the north shore of Kauai in April. Being the tail end of winter, most of the north shore beaches have a large swell and can be pretty rough. That means finding somewhere to swim and snorkel in safety can be hard. Anini Beach is that hidden gem. Sheltered and peaceful, the waves break on... More

This beautiful beach is ringed by a reef that makes a protected pool of gentle, lapping waves, even when surf is high on the rest of the North Shore. We had a great day swimming and snorkeling here and spotted a sea turtle in the water near the beach. As gentle as it seems though, please remember this is the... More

The water color is very pretty, good picnicking, parking, restrooms, and the area is blocked off for safer swimming and good for kids too. We went twice as we liked it very much. One person we met saw a large turtle in the water there too.

There are nice secluded feeling segments of this beach and you can snorkel anywhere! It gets 4 stars because the water is super shallow so you have to swim out a bit to get to a place where you are sure you are not going to hit it. Stepping on or pushing off of the reef, even accidentally can ruin/kill... More

Of the 3 beaches where we snorkeled, this was our favorite because it was beautiful, seemed to be a little less crowded and we swam with two sea turtles, finding them both times when we went out that day!
