This is an out of the way place to find but once there, the serenity and views are worth the trip. It's amazing that such an area exists such a short way from the city.

I thought this bit of history is interesting. No one knows who built it. The Ali'i used it and kept everyone else out.

It's pretty much just a roadside stop with a placard and its story. If in the area it might be worth a visit. There are nice views and the pond's history is interesting. There are no trails to access the pond. The closest you can...More

This was quite off the beaten path and not especially walkable, but the history was very interesting to me, and the view from the lookout is gorgeous!

Only minutes from Lihue. The overlook from Hulemalu Road is excellent. Do your read-up on this fish pond, built nearly 1000 years ago. Worth a detour....

The only thing interesting about this site is the one sign telling about a bit of Hawaiian history...a very small bit. Forgettable
