Beautiful beach with green jagged mountain views and pale waters. More crowded than tunnels, but convenient walking distance from the small town area. Town itself was cute and has a handful of good shops and restaurants, but nothing out of the ordinary for a small beachside town apart from the decor.

Google it first and you will see how amazing this bay looks. Kayak or snorkel it! Just step on the beach. Just take a look.

I've been to this beach a few time and it's best when it's sunny (duh). This bay does tend to get more rain than the south part of the island. That said, gorgeous sandy beach with surfing, snorkeling and other sports available. Bathrooms and shade. It's a delightful beach.

Hanalei Bay is gorgeous, with an expansive beach, pier, and picnic areas. You can see everything from kids building sand castles, to surfers taking on some fairly decent sized waves. The town of Hanalei is really cool, laid back with lots of great places to eat. Such an awesome place.

Although it was too windy to catch our sail for whale watching and snorkeling while we were there, the time spent at Hanalie Bay was wonderful. Pretty sights and many surfers catching the swells. Trees provided shade which was welcome at that point in our week with some sunburn setting in.

This bay holds a large beach and is jut a few blocks off the road, so it was less busy than I expected as you can't see it while driving by. The beach has a large parking area, and plenty of room. In the winter you can watch surfers riding the waves. There is a grassy area as well if... More

Hanalei Bay was a great beach for boogie boarding and walking. Lifeguards are very conscientious. They adise if surf gets too dangerous. Late January through early February had some rough surf days and also calmer days. On rough surf days rented a paddle board to use on the lazy river. Very tidy and good family fun. It's nice getting away... More

This is a great place to stop just north of Princeville. Pick up a lunch in Hanalei and enjoy it out on the pier. Great place to hangout, swim, and watch the surfers. Popular place for families too. Great views! Parking can be tricky. Get there early!

Relaxing beach for the day. Drove in from lihue and stopped for a few hours to sun bathe. Perfect for just chilling out
