I love this place. Atmosphere, not long or big beach with many people. Early mlrning you can see fishermen coming from the sea with fish. You can buy theese fish. Good place for surfing, relax. Good restaurants and more intimate atmosphere like in Agadir city.

Hi all! I have just returned from spending a few days surfing in the area of Taghazout. Despite being a bit afraid after reading all the comments regarding Taghazout belly, I have to say that neither me or my partner got ill. I noticed that most of the hostels have shared bathrooms, so it is extremely important to use your own towels and keep everything clean. In addition, we ensured to drink bottled water and avoid raw food (including salads). With that, you'll be fine and will enjoy your stay!

Good massage by the public quiet beach. I have been hotel Riu taghazout for a week in mid September, been to their spa, don't expect moroccan hammam as like the Turkish as they didn't include the bubble massage instead after full exfoliation they put mud n keep washing you. I think I can do that myself. So I came across this girl who can massage by the beach, she charges 100dhs to 130dhs (bet £8-£10) an hour coming to taghazout beach to massage you. Best is to meet her close to the security gate by the hotel on the beach side otherwise can be difficult as hotel security not allowed any unauthorised outsiders at all. I booked her everyday for 2 hours massage. So for £20 for 2 hrs and in the hotel they charged at 700dhs(£60)an hour for deep tissue.
My hand been a problem and she massage heavily basically everyday and the numbness on my arms and fingers has gone now. Anyone who is interested may contact her at +212 697-512215. You may check if she goes to agadir. Good luck

After hearing everyone was ill around me and my son, we started with a questionmark. My son got ill after 3 days, threw up and heavy diarrhea and myself got it after 7 days, as 50% of all other a heavily inflamated throat with high fever. All in all a disaster and especially because everybody had the same issues: either throat or vomit/diarrhea. After reading an article, I know now why... the sewage is led into the sea for almost three years already. The place as well as the beaches are ideal for surfing. People are super friendly and you feel comfortable and at ease. The almost 100% illness quote should be communicated to all visitors from abroad, because that'sreally annoying. I was there alone with my6 year old son. Not funny!

There’s a new main road running north/south here with buses, and the little houses tumble down to the beach with stony, sandy alleys, shops and cafes. The beach is a mix of stones and sand and some rubbish, and a couple of stalls selling the day’s catch. It’s a good place to learn to surf, the sea is beautiful.
Just along the beach is a large new hotel, and it looks like developers are moving in fast.

Friends
Having recently visited a well known hotel for two weeks in Taghazout, I feel compelled to write a review and advise against going there on holiday.
The whole town has a very nasty bug going round and during my stay, about 90% of patrons who visited my hotel got very sick. Some on their first day!
I got very sick on my third day and unfortunately I am still sick back home In the UK! I personally saw raw sewage leaking out from the hotels and into the sea and the smell in the hotel was of raw sewage/sulphur which actually woke me up in the middle of the night on my first evening!
It’s astonishing to me that hotels are taking folks money whilst knowing full well that the holiday makers will get sick. The staff were lovely and helpful but they are fighting a losing battle and the situation is not their fault.
The evenings conversations at dinner were always about who was sick and who wasn’t.

As for the surf.
It’s so busy in the water with surfers it’s almost impossible to get a good wave. If you think you are going to rock up and score a set wave at one of the famous point breaks on a good day then you are sorely mistaken!

I feel bad for writing a negative review but I feel that I have wasted a lot of precious time, effort and money traveling to Taghazout and if I had known what I was letting myself in for, I would have stayed at home for sure.

I have traveled in many countries over the years and have never saw such a dreadful public health situation.

Be very wary!
