The one thing I can assure you of is that if you visit the tanneries, your olfactory senses may never forgive you. You are led, in my case, by a guide into a leather store. The colours of the leather goods will capture your interest....More

every one who visits Morocco, must go and see a tannery. Have in mind that especially in the summer time the smell might be too much for some!

A must in Fes, a central place for the economic and social life of the city. You can always find someone who takes you to a roof and explains for free how tanneries work.

The small terraces surrounding the leather makers are the best selfie spot in Fez. We could not stop taking pictures.

A visit to the tannery area is an experience! I'm glad I went and saw it but make sure if you visit to take something to put under your nose!!

The obligatory visit to the tannery can be alittle overwhelming smell wise but certainly worth a look. We saw it from afew angles and thought the best view was from El Haj Ali Baba tannery shop. The name is not on the shop but it...More

It was nice to see this place from above but the smell was really intense. A local helped us to find the entrance and then the guy wanted money for taking us upstairs.
