We had long heard stories about this old tannery. Very happy we visited. Although great to see be forewarned the smell can be overwhelming. However they do give you mint to put up to your nose to help. The history of this place is incredible....More

Unless you have a guide, your way towards the tannery will be met with various hustlers trying to get you into their shops or balcony to view the tannery from above. And you will be “not forced” into shopping or paying for using the balcony....More

Interesting to watch the processes at the tannery. The smell is overwhelming but you will get a mint sprig to alleviate the smell. Very old traditions in place. Check out the huge wooden barrel dryer at the back.

Of course the tannery is a necessity to visit while in Fèz and everybody will guide you to it! All the shops surrounding the tannery offer free entrance to their terrace overviewing the tannery, including a bunch of mint to drive out the horrible smell....More

you can find leather goods in lot of cities around morocco, also in Fes. In Chouara Tannery you will find more expensive things in leather, but around medina you can find other ones, even of Camel too , and well you can... More
