Unlike most other places of worship and many other Mosques who welcome anyone this Mosque is for Muslims only. Although i have spent more time in Mosques during my life than Churches, as an atheist i understand that i shouldn't be allowed in anyway. So from the outside as a non Muslim its just a big old tower. Good to... More

Visited this mosque on December as far as I am aware they do not allow non Muslims in the mosque. I am Muslim but do not wear a head cover so on the entrance and even when I entered, I was asked a few times if I was a Muslim. The mosque has a big courtyard and that's all I... More

Didn't enjoy this visit particularly. Once you've seen it, you've seen it. Took a few pictures but these will I'm sure soon be confined to the back of my hard drive. Perhaps it's me but this didn't do much for me. Sorry. Besides the mosque is hidden inside a maze of buildings one wrong turn and you'll be lost so... More

Non-muslims are not allowed in the mosque, but the architecture you can see from the exterior is amazing. Non-muslims, however, can go inside the near by Ben Youssef madrasa, which is also amazing.

A spectacular courtyard forms the centre of this building. The decoration is just beautiful. Don't leave Marrakech without visiting it and looking down into the courtyard from one of the student cells.

The medrassa Ben Youssef must be one of the highlight of Marrakech .It attracts all the tourists of this city to enjoy the old buildings in Marrakech and to learn about the Moroccan old educational system.

While Westerners aren't allowed in the mosque (understandably), this is still worth a visit if in the area. The architecture is quite impressive and the gardens are really tranquil. Still, not too much to see so I wouldn't spend more than an hour here.

This is the best mosque in Marrakech. Ornate wooden roof, amazing mimber, amazing tiled courtyard with ablution area. Area for women is to the left and very peaceful. Welcoming to Muslims from everywhere. I enjoyed prayers here.

Non Muslims are not allowed in so it's just a wall, most likely to walk past though so I wouldn't go just for it specially.
