We wandered here after visiting the Majorelle gardens, and whilst it was easy to get to we found quite rundown. Work stopping for lunch or a drink at the brasserie in a lovely old building. Not worth travelling to if you're not already in the area.

Not the best of places to go to in Marrakech if you want authentic culture but good if you have money to spend on Restaurants and bars. The Gueliz area has a shopping centre with the usual highstreet shops you would get in the UK. The area does have some nice bars like the level 5 bar and other hip... More

Do not go! Was so dreary and devoid of character and charm. Concrete jungle. Cafe 16 was good though.

Sure, it's a nice part of the city with shops and cafées, however, it's like a weekend in Paris (France, not Paris Tennessee).... So why fly to Marrakch if you want to visit Paris? I don't understand that...

It`s completely different from the Medina and closer to the feeling of big cities around the world. Interesting to see how Moroccan culture applies to a modern environment.

Stayed at a hotel in the area and could tour around both by night and day. Very modern buildings, nice shops and restaurants, very lively neighbourhood.

Compared with teh medina, this is well worth a miss. Just a bunch of modern buildings and shops. Don't waste your time.

A contrast with the old city but as in any city, new development brings new, higher prices. Pleasant to walk around with a good range of shops, cafes, hotels, banks etc.

This is a great area to visit if you want to get away from the madness of the old city. Nice shops and bars. You can walk from the main square.
