Just around the corner from our Riad, the square became our go-to place for food, a drink or just to chill a bit. There are some great shops, the Jewish market is well worth a visit and the square is well-placed for a number of tourist attractions. The food and drinks from the cafes around the square are pretty much... More

There are a couple of small stores. It seems like the square was renovated recently and looks clean. Some shops show fixed prices, which is rather fair or even a lot cheaper than the main souk. Staff are friendly and not pushy at all. You do not have to bother ripoff or discount here.

We liked this area and went to an open cafe several times, just to sit and watch the world go by. Apart from the women selling bangles, not too much hassle. Some interesting shops and workshops.

we were told these souks not as good as Fes, but the men there were making good quality crafts. super friendly, we wanted to buy a lamp but the quality was such that we went overboard and got three! easier to navigate than in Fes and good prices.

There is a line of restaurants and we picked the restaurant first in line. Had 3 different tagines, all containing more fat than meat, and one of them was a leftover stucked to the bottom by heated up again.

We visited this location to buy a lamp and weren't disappointed by the availability and finally managed to buy something that wasn't ridiculously overpriced. There are also a number of shops selling interesting things such as bottles with 'silverware' and fabrics. The location is easy to find and quite close to the Medina. It is a bit of a bombsite... This small square is a great hidden gem in Marrakech. Not too long of a walk from Jemaa al Fna. Beautiful metalwork and some great photo opportunities. We did not find the vendors to be pushy and when we visited it was not overly crouded. Worth the sidetrip if you itinerary allows.

This little square gives a fascinating insight into the intricate works of the local tin workers. You can watch the workers hand making lanterns and purchase at reasonable prices. The square is half dug-up at present, they are obviously re-laying the pavers so that is a bit of a mess but will be great when finished. There are open air... More

Perhaps this square will return to its atmospheric self when current major construction is completed but for now it is a mess. Not recommended. A few inexpensive restaurants and boutiques remain open during the works.

We stumbled across this square having visited the palace ruins which are close by. The shop keepers were more laid back than the ones in the souks. Stop off at the open air tagine restaurant on one side of the square. We went to number 16 and had the best lamb tagine for only 30 dirham. Locals were eating there... More
