Took a chance a chance and ate some fish which was extremely tasty. There's too much garbage around the area and not a single bin was in sight. The cultural center was very clean and it's a nice getaway from busy Dar especially Salaam.

The travel to and from Bagamoyo offers a kind of tour within itself as you pass through the different areas of Tanzania. I am to the point now, that if you have seen one colonial era fort, you have basically seen them all. What impressed me here however, was how the people had determined that they would repurpose a site... More

This was a terrible tour. The 2 hour bus ride from the city would make you expect something a lot more interesting compared to what we actually got. After the crocodile farm (which had absolutely nothing to do with Bagamoyo) we were supposed to go to a hotel for lunch for several hours instead our tour guide and driver dropped... More

It's quite a ride to get out to Bagamoyo - interesting ruins, and port life to observe. Nothing much more to do, really. Great for photography.

Bagamoyo is north of Dar-es-salaam.A sure visit is to the ruins which is ten kilometers out of bagamoyo town. There is a crocodile farm that you must also visit on the way.You can dine at a local restaurant referred to as "NDIZI TAMU" by the locals who will guide you there in the middle of the market. Its an old town.

The tour itself is interesting and the guide we had was knowledgeable, but as mentioned before you must pay a sizeable fee at each segment as well as again at the end of the tour. I recommend if you are thinking about taking this tour to ask ahead the total cost of everything, a print out is preferable so the... More

Ruins were very interesting but the tours very overpriced. Each segment has requires a new payment. I would not recommend this as a day trip from Dar es Salaam due to distance, price and tour price.

One of the areas in East Africa not well talked about its an experience everybody needs to have. Was impressed by the way that society lived in the 13th century. The beach Speke passed.in.search of Livingstone.

A lovely day trip, that gets you out of the urban hectic hussle of Dar es Salaam and shows you a true part of history of this part of the world. You will drive back to Dar, thinking "I did not know that..."
