Our guide Jumanne had great knowledge of the animals and was very good in spoting animals. We were lucky to see both leopard and lion.Vuma hills had high standard on their tents. Going there on in the morning of day one and then back to Dar on day 3 is a good setup.

From the very start of our trip planning, I had a wonderful experience. I booked the safari for 5 adult friends via email. Waterbuck Safaris replied promptly, made good suggestions on where to stay, had various price points to chose from and made it very smooth to plan the trip via email. They promptly picked us up at our hotel... More

We had an absolutely fantastic 3 night/4 day safari to Selous Game Reserve all arranged by Waterbucks. Their communications regarding what we wanted and what was available was excellent. They arranged to collect us from the airport and take us to our hotel in Dar Es Salaam for an overnight stay before our safari the next day. What an experience... More

We were a bit worried during the planning process, as we had to provide a bank transfer to secure our spots on a private safari to Selous. However, immediately upon pick up from our hotel and arrival at the Waterbuck office, we could tell this was going to be an amazing journey. Our guide, Naza, was AMAZING. He translated, educated,... What would have rated a great review was offset a bit by the guide at the end our tour. I'll start with the good first. Booking the tour and contact with the person I was interacting with during the planning was very good. They're very responsive to emails and provide all necessary information up front. We were met by our... More

My husband and I booked our trip to Tanzania with Waterbuck Safaris, which included a Selous safari followed by 3 days at Zanzibar. First of all I'll start off by saying we really enjoyed our trip, absolute highlight was the Zafara tented camp, the staff is lovely, super friendly and helpful, the food was great and the accommodation very clean... We hiked thru the Ngorongoro Highlands and climbed Ol Donyo Lengai with Waterbuck Safaris sister company Sunny Safaris in August of 2016. Shafina was extremely patient and responded to my many e-mail’s promptly. There were no nasty surprises and our guide/driver Athmel was very flexible, adapting the route to meet our needs. Both Athmel and the cook David were very... More

An excellent experience: Lots of animals and great pictures; a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional guide; and a nice stay at Tan Swiss Lodge. Highly recommended. One note: The drive from downtown Dar to Mikumi is five hours, but it's not so bad, and you get to see a lot of Tanzania you otherwise wouldn't.
