We went out to the island on a Sunday morning. It was peaceful since we went so early. As the day progressed many boats arrived with a great number of people. Many of these people think everyone wants to hear their music. The park fees are a bit high. The fish and chips are overpriced.

Being a Kenyan, we have much better looking beaches in our homeland. We paid KES 1000 to cross over and admission charges. Carry your "cold" drinks and food to avoid disappointment.

Easy to get there. Take a taxi to Waterworld and then the small ferry to the island. For lunch fresh fish with pommes frittes and beer. You can rent some ok snorkeling equipment for almost no cost. Really nice for relaxing and swimming in lovely water!

We were a family of 5 plus 3 friends, all grown ups. We came there by boat from "Water World" where we already paid the entrance fee. Arriving on the island we were welcomed by the guards that wanted to collect the fee or see our tickets. We then walked across the island to a beautiful beach where we were... More

15 mins by boat from mainland Tanzania. Very quiet and great to isolate yourself for a relaxing day.

Good location and great food. Can get crowded but the area is big. Although it does get pricey. Overall a nice experience.

amazing place, quiet and not super crowded. get there early and negotiate for a covered place to relax all day. Make sure you give them time to prepare your food if you choose to order. You can also bring a cooler and all your own food. Take the boat from one of the local hotels, but whatever you do, don't... More

The waters were cristal clear. A very good family place. Rent a tent immediately you get there. It also advisable to carry light sleeping rags where you can rest the children. The fish and lobsters are truly fresh and well made over charcoal fire. It's a sure recommendation for anyone who wants a day out of Dar es Salaam
