This museum is located in an old colonial building, which is interesting in itself. There are a number of exhibits of artefacts - some of which are very beautiful. Labels in English would be very helpful to non-Portuguese speakers (though enough can be gleaned). I was also solicited to buy books and by a guide for money (though he was... More

Angola is an emerging nation for tourism. Much of the historical significance has been lost. The curators at this museum have a genuine love of their work and are eager to show you the specimens that have been preserved. A worthwhile visit if you have the time

This is a tiny museum with some interesting pieces, but sadly poorly displayed. Because there is not an overly amount of museums or touristy things to do, this is worth the pittance admission. Washrooms are decent. no gift shop, no food to buy

I visited the museum about 4-5 years ago. Since then the place has been closed for maintenance in many occasions. I couldn't get right the museums schedule, so when I arrived it seemed to be closed but after a brief discussion with one of the employees I was allowed to get in. I was saw many objects (art crafts) from... More

The French funded the restoration of a wealthy slave trader's house in a lovely manner. I visited during an open day for schools and was lucky enough to have the director take me around. He was most informative guide (in Portuguese) and interesting artifacts.Normally only open during the week.

Angolan Ministry of Culture should do a better service. Generally it closes on Sundays! There's nothing to learn or see that worth

I was there in a guided tour organized by a local university. The exhibition was interesting but nobody has idea of how to answer questions
