I would recommend Chiromeda Market as a great place for Ethiopian clothes. I have also been told the prices here are better than other more touristy locations such as near the post office. However, when we last visited it was near Christmas so prices were higher than usual. It is nice to have an Ethiopian friend go with you to... More

This market is located on the side of road to Entoto. This maket sells everything and it is good place if you want to buy Ethiopian Clothes. It is not very crowded and the vedors were nice and polite.

This is my favorite place to shop. They have anything you could want. The vendors are polite and reasonable. Not very crowded. Great Traditional Ethiopian clothing selection.

If your'e looking for Ethiopian dresses, scarves, etc...this is the place to go. It can be very busy at times, but worth navigating the chaos.

My wife and I visited the Chiromeda Market and thoroughly enjoyed it. Located on the road to Entoto, the market has parking and it is safe to walk about. It specializes in women's traditional clothing with a couple of generic souvenir shops. We relished the change of pace from most Addis markets which can be quite crowded and very busy.... More

It's the best place to buy Traditional Ethiopian clothes. It's less crowded on weekdays. Bargain hard!

Shiro Meda is an active, bustling market, we stopped here on our wday back to Addis Ababa from Entoto because I wanted to find a shamma, one of the decorated white shawls I'd seen so many women wearing on Sunday in Addis and Entoto. It didn't take long for me to find exactly what I wanted, and of course I... More

If you don't want to loose few hours to check Markato closely, Chiromeda is just an answer. You can find there a lot of shops with clothes. Negotiate the price hard, and make sure your wallet and mobile are safe ;) thieves are everywhere

I went to Chiromeda market to buy souvenirs for friends and family. Dresses, shirts, scarves, you name it... It's cheaper than in town, but you'll have to bargain hard if you don't want to pay the farenji price. When they give you a price, just bargain until you reach half of what they told you first! :)
