If you are like me and don't want to go through the hassle of haggling, this is perfect for you. They have it all (spices, vanilla, rum, decorative stuff, Mada clothing items...)and I think the prices are pretty good. If you buy a lot, you can actually ask for a discount.

Multiple shops offering variety of Madagascar art and products at prices 5-10 times more expensive than in Marche de La Digue

Otherwise, I would like to inform everyone that Is'Art Galery is a contemporary art galery, not a local handcraft shop, as you mentionned le Marché de la Digue. Each work that we sell or exhibit is a single production created by a recognized Malagasy contemporary artist. More

This gallery has an interesting catalogue of contemporary Malagasy artists. There isn't much of a art market yet in Madagascar or even Antananarivo but these guys are an engine in creating it. On top of the exhibitions they do organize other art related program like seminars and cool parties. When in town - remember to check this place out if... More
